How to Find a Therapist in Boca Raton Florida

Find a counselor in Boca Raton

While Boca Raton is considered paradise to many with its manicured neighborhoods and sunshiny days, that doesn’t mean life doesn’t come up with challenges and you don’t sometimes need support. If you are looking for a counselor, therapist or life coach, I would like to help you find someone who can help.

I do believe the best recommendation comes from word of mouth, from one who has had direct experience with a therapist or counselor being recommended. Yet you need to remember that each of our needs are different so not every therapist is a good fit. Often though, we share similarities to our friends so a recommendation from a friend is a good place to start.

Ask your doctor. Doctors are usually connected to professionals in the mental health field.

Shop online. There are many therapist directories out there such as Psychology Today or Good Therapy which are good places to start. You can put in specifics about your search such as gender, the problem or issue you want to explore, therapy approach, insurance acceptance, etc.

Google!! Most therapists have a webpage which means most therapists can be found just by searching. Just know that just because a therapist shows up on the first page does not mean that they are the “best,” it just means they know how to get their site recognized by google. It helps to be specific in your search to find a good match such as “therapist specializing in anxiety in Delray Beach.”

Then call. Sometimes that call can be easier said done but remember, therapists know the difficulty in making that first call. Most therapists offer free phone consultations so you can talk about your needs and learn what they offer as well as get a better feel for the therapist. Have your questions ready and notice how you feel on the phone.

I hope this helps you find the right counselor or therapist in Boca Raton. If you are still feeling stuck, feel free to call me at 561-406-4398 for a free 15 minute phone consultation. I’d be happy to hear about what is happening and help direct you to the right person. If you are looking for help with anxiety or relationship struggles, you can read more about how I can help here.
